About Michael Sans: |
 |
Michael Sans bags and belts are manufactured to the highest quality, with
careful attention given to every detail. All items are hand-made in
Germany. Working with natural, sustainable and very eco-friendly
materials and processes is extremely important to the designer.
Southern German calf leather measures between 3.2 and 3.5 mm - too
strong to be sewed by machine. Thus each item is elaborately prepared
at a Brandenburg saddlery and hand-stitched after wards („2-Nadel-
Handnaht“). The leather is tanned using natural materials, without the
chemical chroming found in other products. Only natural coloring is used.
The colors are not spray-applied but massaged in. A version of the item
in untreated leather is also available. Additionally, the leather comes either
waxed or oiled.
The edges of the bags and belts are finally treated in a traditional style
color – not only does this color protect, but it also makes a nice contrast
to the shade of the leather. The specially waxed sewing thread is
extremely robust and tear-proof. All fittings, metal pieces and rivets are
made of rustproof aluminum or stainless steal and are obtained
exclusively from Germany and Switzerland.
